FIVE STAR *****

By Paul Harper on 12 August 2016 An Exceptional Work!

I would highly recommend this book. The author has really researched the subject matter, capturing the historical and social setting at the beginning of Great War. What I really like is the authors in knowledge and style in bringing over the scientific story. He must have done a lot of research.

By Amazon Customer on 30 January 2016 . I didn’t want this book to end!

I would recommend this book to all. The social history and setting, being 2 months after the outbreak of the Great War, are just as fascinating as the scientific story which began billions of years ago. The depth of research along with the knowledge and insight of the author are outstanding

FIVE STAR *****

By Hrodebert on 3 November 2014 All in all a good tenner’s worth for anyone interested in meteorites

This book was of particular interest to me as I live just a mile or so from where the meteorite landed (some 30 years before I was born, I might add). I am fascinated by all aspects of local history, and Russell Parry has produced a little gem here. He has conducted intense research into his subject and dug up every known fact regarding the incident. The story is presented in a very readable style, and he has added a considerable amount of technical/scientific information about meteorites in general – well worth a read just for “general knowledge”. All in all a good tenner’s worth for anyone interested in meteorites, or local history (if you happen to live anywhere near Appley Bridge)
